What is it?

This is a new program in its second year with Lacombe Minor Hockey Association (LMHA) with the goal to foster a love of hockey for kids who are new to the sport and try it out with a smaller time commitment.

  • Players registered in a LMHA U7-U11 division are unable to participate in this program.
  • Players can switch to a team with a prorated discount at any point during the season until early January 2024.  If you choose to switch to a team, you attend their regular practice times as well as any scheduled games, tournaments, events, etc.

What are past participants saying?

Rocket Launchers had a really successful first year in 2022/23 with several players planning to register on a team in 2023/24 and four players also switched onto regular teams through the season. Here’s what some participants had to say (need to confirm these-Amy do you have any comments from parents you could insert? I’m just waiting for some from the few who switched into teams partway through the year):

  • We loved the opportunity to try hockey out and make sure my player loved it before committing to a team for the full year
  • The final wrap-up game in Sylvan Lake was a lot of fun!
